Herb Alpert & Lani Hall at Sellersville Theater 1894
Grammy Winner Lani Hall was vocalist for Sérgio Mendes & Brasil '66 during their 1966-1971 heyday plus enjoys a successful solo career which includes her hit rendition of the James Bond film theme "Never Say Never Again."
Herb Alpert led the Tijuana Brass, owned A&M Records and creates abstract expressionist paintings and sculpture. He and wife and music partner Lani Hall are philanthropists through the operation of The Herb Alpert Foundation.
Alpert's musical accomplishments include charting with 28 albums on Billboard (with a pair reaching number one), winning nine Grammys (most recently this year for Best Pop Instrumental Album 'Steppin' Out'), a platinum and fourteen gold albums. He remains the only recording artist to hit number one as both vocalist with "This Guy's In Love with You" and instrumentalist with "Rise" both going gold. Alpert also reached the Top 10 with "Diamond's" (with Janet Jackson) and instrumentals "The Lonely Bull" and "Taste Of Honey." He co-wrote the classic "Wonderful World" for Same Cooke, also covered by Herman's Hermits and Art Garfunkel with Paul Simon and James Taylor. Herb Alpert was awarded the National Medal Of Arts by President Obama in 2013, has a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and along with business partner Jerry Moss were inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall Of Hall Fame.
